About Me

All photographs are memento mori. To take a photograph is to participate in another person’s (or thing’s) mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time’s relentless melt.

SUSAN SONTAG

It all started when I was 12 years old, and being into gadgets I heard that digital cameras are going to be released to the consumer market, and sort of at affordable prices too. I knew I had to have one, and started delivering newspapers before school. I sold the piano my grandma gave me for my 10th birthday (after 4 years I was still getting chop stick down), and threw all my money together to buy my first camera at 13. It had a 1.25MG pixel camera, capable of taking 31 photos, with a battery life of about 12 minutes, and was the greatest thing EVER! I still remember taking my bike up the mountain close to my house before the sun was up, getting those golden hour shots, and racing back home to see what I got. Practising through the day and heading out to get that sunset. Since then I’ve always been at it, and 17 years later I’ve learned a huge amount. And the great thing about photography is that still, every day I learn something new. Recently I’ve won the Mazda Wildlife competition, and my work has appeared in Getaway magazine. I’ve also sold work internationally, and my images have been used on commercial websites. I’ve received my diploma from The Photography Institute, as well as an Advanced Wedding Certificate. I’ve also received certification from the Shaw Academy. I sincerely believe that memories NEED to be captured. My goal is to capture them in the most beautiful and timeless way, so that they can be enjoyed and recalled not only by my clients, but for future generations to come. Every day I strive to improve my talent, to ultimately be the best. Thank you for taking the time to visit my website, and I look forward to working with you!
