By the time I packed up and headed home later that night, my windscreen had frozen over completely.

As Amré started walking down the aisle, Cornie became visibly emotional.
He wasn’t alone.
Several of the groomsmen were wiping away tears as they watched her approach.

The rings were delivered by two young ring bearers walking in to the theme song from Bad Boys, complete with sunglasses and toy guns.
The entire ceremony burst into laughter.

After the ceremony, guests lined the pathway while paper heart confetti filled the air around the newlyweds.

I also captured a video of the confetti exit, and seeing those paper hearts floating through the winter light looked every bit as magical as it felt in person.

One of the things I enjoyed most about this wedding was how many personal touches reflected who Cornie and Amré are as people.
Rather than focusing on trends or elaborate statements, they focused on meaningful details.
One of my favourites was a handcrafted wooden display filled with mugs that guests could take home as gifts.
It wasn’t extravagant.
It wasn’t flashy.
It was thoughtful.
The kind of gift that will still be sitting in someone’s kitchen years from now, quietly reminding them of a wedding they attended.
Another detail I loved was that the couple included their two dogs in the wedding.
Pets are family too.

For Cornie and Amré’s portraits, we started by the dam.

The venue owner mentioned they had recently started incorporating it and were excited to see how it photographed.
